It's easy to think of Las Vegas simply as the place where you visit either win or become separated from your money, and although the town is built around that, there're lots of excellent things to do for those who don't like gambling. Non-gamblers may be reluctant to admit it, but Las Vegas has a world of fantastic things to do in addition to gambling. I love to find cheap Las Vegas packages and then enjoy my choice of the many offerings around the town and adjoining areas.

Lots of people, when asked what a perfect holiday would consist of, would mention things like resort hotels, sightseeing, lying out by a lovely luxurious swimming pool, cool restaurants, shopping and entertainment, not to mention dancing and nightclubs.

Well, apart from the gambling, you simply described Las Vegas. Even outdoor types can find many excellent activities with places like Red Rock Canyon, Lake Mead, or the Grand Canyon not too far away. There's world-class golf, skiing, hiking, boating and fishing. And with every cheap Vegas packages available, you can enjoy all of those things for a lot less than any other holiday locations.

Personally, I love the food. With all the themed casino hotels from all over the world, and the world-class chefs, not to mention the $1.99 shrimp cocktail at the Golden Gate Casino, oh and I can't leave out the infinite parade of buffets, it is a food lover's paradise. Whenever I'm in Vegas, I choose the buffets that I am gonna indulge in as part of my Las Vegas experience. For example, if one day I desire to do some really good and really cheap sport eating, I might begin with the $5.95 breakfast buffet at the Palms, showing up at 10:00 or 10:30 thus I can get in on the lunch buffet as well for no additional charge. Then, when I lastly get hungry later on in the evening, I will go somewhere like the Slots-A- Fun that is adjacent to Circus Circus for a large 99 cent hotdog. And even though we're not discussing gambling in this article, I have to throw in the information that Slots-A-Fun still has $2.00 craps and $1.00 Blackjack.

Las Vegas also is well-known for the world class entertainment, but many people do not go beyond the big headliners to discover the world of inexpensive but top notch performers and entertainers that abound in Las Vegas. For example, there is the afternoon Mac King Comedy Show at Harrah's Casino that is sure to delight the kids and also the grown-ups, and is a cut price at 25 bucks. If you love magic by the way, Las Vegas is the town for you.
